Kapiti Coast District Council, Kāpiti Impact Trust and Strategic Grants are working together to provide a Grant-Seeking Capability Pilot to 50 community organisations in Kāpiti (Paekākāriki to Ōtaki).
Along with free access to GEM Local, Kapiti Coast District Council and Kāpiti Impact Trust will be offering in-depth skill-building workshops for grant-seeking community organisations.

Who is eligible?
In order to be selected to take part in the Grant-Seeking Capability Pilot, including access to GEM Local, your organisation must:
- be not-for-profit and community and social sector focused
- deliver projects in any of the Kāpiti communities from Paekākāriki to Ōtaki
- have annual revenue under $1.5M
- not be a local branch of a national organisation operating under a head office centralised grants strategy
- be active grant seekers
- complete a short participation survey annually
- be committed to the active participation in the other Grant-Seeking Capability activities in the pilot (such as skill-building workshops)
Free access is provided for 12 months, and renewal is dependent on Council's continued support for the scheme and your ongoing use of it.
What if you are NOT a legal entity?
Being a legal entity (e.g. a Charitable Trust or an Incorporated Society) and a registered charity is NOT a requirement to access the scheme. However, please be aware that some funders will require this status, before you can make a funding application to them.
